PINC & STEEL is more than just helping people after cancer, it is about giving hope, strength and courage.
PINC & STEEL is more than just helping people after cancer, it is about giving hope, strength and courage.
Pinc & Steel understands that people undergoing cancer treatment, cancer survivors and their families and friends may have concerns in relation to the recent outbreak of Coronavirus and the illness it causes, COVID-19.
The wellbeing of our Pinc & Steel clinicians, their patients, and their communities is our top priority. The patients our Certified Providers are supporting with cancer rehabilitation are among the highest risk category in terms of the potential impact of COVID-19 could have on their health. We are taking additional steps in each country we operate in to keep people safe. Most of our clinicians are currently using Telehealth services, online consultations and online classes to continue to support their patients during this time.
At Pinc & Steel we continue to support our cancer rehab physiotherapists and occupational therapists around the world by directing them to their professional body organisations, to their Governments’ guidelines and to relevant health and safety recommendations applicable in their locations for their specific work place.
All our providers have access to a virtual support group where they can seek guidance from other Certified Pinc & Steel professionals in their region or across the world and ask questions as they seek to do their upmost to keep their communities safe and supported in these very challenging times.
Our online 12-week Pinc & Steel Certification Programs are continuing at this time. The dates and schedules for our professional development courses running later in the year remain unchanged at this stage.
If you have cancer your immune system may not be as strong as it normally is which means you should continue to follow specific advice or standard precautions recommended by your health care practitioners to minimise your risk of infection, during and after treatment.
If you are feeling anxious, have questions or need support – please ring and contact your health practitioner, certified cancer rehab therapist or cancer support organisation in your region.
We will continue to review this over the coming weeks.
Kia kaha.
